Minutes for 10/25/17 Meeting
October 29, 2017

Hi Families,

We will be sending home a lot of information about the Jog-a-thon in the next few weeks; but the most important thing you can do right now is to sign your kids up on line at www.pledgestar.com/jeffersonjog

The Jog-a-thon is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and it is crucial that everyone participate to help us fund garden classes, art classes, after-school clubs, field trips and more!

The actual event will take place on campus on Dec. 6, 2017; but the important part happens in the weeks before. The idea is that you will sign up on pledgestar, send out pledge requests via email to your friends and family, and they will donate to Friends of Jefferson either with credit card (preferred) or check. Last year we raised almost $20,000, and this year we would love to raise even more.

To raise $20,000, each family would only need to raise about $80.00. Remember, this money is not supposed to come out of your own pocket (although your personal contributions are welcome, of course)–this is a chance for grandparents, aunts & uncles, and family friends to contribute to your children’s school.

Participants in the Jog-a-thon will be encouraged to send out pledges with a whole array of different prizes. Prizes go to top earners, as well as participants who send out the most pledge requests. There will also be prizes for top runners in each class, prizes for the classes who have the most participants signed up within the first 2 weeks, and prizes for the classes that earn the most money for the school. Past prizes have included bikes, skateboards, amusement park passes, t-shirts, gift cards, and much more. Details about the prizes will be coming out soon.

Thanks so much for your participation, and remember that every pledge, no matter how large or small, makes a difference!

You probably don’t even need this, but we made a video tutorial to show you how easy it is to use this site!
