Admission is free\, there’s a kids’ buffet available\, and a portion of all the food and drink sales from the night goes to FOJ to help fund programs like gardening\, art classes\, and after school clubs. \nThis month’s feature is “Elf” The show starts at 5:30. Waypoint Public is located at the intersection of 3oth St. and North Park Way.

We will meet at the joint-use field at Jefferson Elementary and fan out from there. If you feel like pulling weeds around the school\, feel free to bring gardening gloves and tools. If not\, no worries\, we will provide trash bags\, gloves\, etc. \nKids are encouraged to come along and help! This is not just for Jefferson families–we hope to be joined by as many community members as possible\, so please spread the word. Our City Council Representative\, Chris Ward\, will be there\, so it will be a good opportunity to chat with a local political leader as well as your neighbors. \nNo worries if you can’t be there at the stroke of 8:30–you just might miss out on coffee and snacks ;p \n

DESCRIPTION:Hey Jefferson families and friends! We have a fun event coming up this week. On Thursday (10/4)\, we will have our first ever Jefferson booth at the North Park Thursday Market! We will be set up in the parking lot behind the Observatory (North Park Theatre) \nTo spotlight our gardening program\, promote the school generally\, and hopefully raise a little money\, we will be running an activity for kids where they make sugar skulls\, Día de los Muertos style\, except out of dirt and seeds! If you will be available to help out anytime between 3:00 and 7:30 on Thursday\, please either respond here or email us at friendsofjeffersonnp@gmail.com \nThis will be an ongoing thing. We’re going to have a Jefferson booth at the market once a month\, alternating focus between Gardening and ArtReach.

Next Tuesday\, of course\, is Family Movie Night at Waypoint Public. Then\, on Friday the 21st\, we’re doing another “dine-out” fundraiser at Chipotle. Finally\, Wednesday the 26th will be our jog-a-thon\, the biggest on-campus fundraiser of the year. \nWe will also do a quick debrief/recap on the Homebrew Fest. Childcare provided by SAY San Diego
