We're Building STEAM
Thomas Jefferson Elementary School is a proud recipient of the 2013 Magnet School Assistance Program (MSAP) Federal Grant. Support provided by the grant will enable our school to develop a new STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) curricular program. The grant was awarded to the district and four schools though the Magnet Schools Assistance Program, a federal agency focused on equality, rigorous curriculum, and increasing enrollment in Magnet Schools.
Students will engage in hands-on learning that challenges them to solve real-world problems using an interdisciplinary approach.Jefferson staff has been fully engaged in developing their International Baccalaureate (IB) program to become globally focused learners active in their own learning and their community.
The STEAM work will enhance and deepen the focus on global issues through the sciences, math, technology, and the arts. Together with IB and STEAM, Jefferson is poised to be a truly unique and exciting school.
