It's all about the kids!

Our foundation is dedicated to sustaining and enhancing enrichment and extracurricular programs at Thomas Jefferson Elementary. Through hard work and community support we will continue to help fund art, language and technology programs that do not get the attention needed from the state and federal education budgets.

About our foundation

Why we help

Jefferson was fortunate to be enlisted in the IB program as well as receive a STEAM grant. Through the STEAM funding, the teachers at the school were afforded some amazing training, tools and building blocks to implement the STEAM and IB curriculum. But the funding to continue to provide the supplies and tools for these programs will run out. It is our goal to make sure that we can continue to provide the necessary funding for these important enrichment programs.

Our history

We started as a small group of parents that live in the North Park community. Many families living in the area were choosing to choice out of their home school. After touring Jefferson Elementary, experiencing its diversity, learning about its initiatives and meeting the staff members it became clear that this is the place we should be sending our kids. Change starts small and it was our goal to push that change. Friends of Jefferson started with a very simple goal; to raise awareness of the amazing public school in our local community and encourage all families to send their kids. Today, our journey continues and we couldn't be happier with the choice.
